The objectives of the Società Dante Alighieri (Auckland NZ) Inc. are to implement the socio-cultural and artistic aims of the Society as follows: • To provide opportunities for Italians to have contact with other Italians and to retain links with their mother country. • To further fellowship between Italians and non-Italian speakers, who wish to broaden their understanding and appreciation of Italian language and culture. • To organise and hold courses of Italian language and conversation for adults and children. • To increase the membership through the creation of wide-ranging initiatives to meet the growing interest amongst New Zealanders in both historic and contemporary Italian culture. • To organise and hold social and cultural activities, either alone or jointly with other societies, clubs or persons. |

The Society has a growing membership and an active Committee of about 12 people supported by helpers. A calendar of social and cultural activities such as lectures, concerts, festivals, dinners, balls, family gatherings and other entertainment is offered to members. A regular newsletter is published to provide information about the Society’s events and other relevant areas of interest to members.

The current annual subscription for membership (incl GST) is: § Students and Seniors $15/person § Single membership $30/person § Couples or Family Membership $40/couple or family Newsletters are sent by e-mail, a $5 surcharge applies to the above fees for newsletters sent by normal post. Children up to 18 years of age come under Student or Family membership. Annual membership is from 1st January to 31st December.
